Films: Scooby Doo (2002)

Summary: There have been many irritating, disposable, insulting TV characters over the years. Screech from "Saved by the Bell", Sheldon from "The Big Bang Theory", the list goes on and on. But for us cartoon lovers, NO ONE was as insufferable as that little cancerous canine known as Scrappy Doo. So, when we heard that he was the true main antagonist of a frankly baffling adaptation of the franchise he came from, you could almost feel the money falling out of longtime fans' pockets to see him get puppy pwned (sorry...)!
History: Scooby Doo's obnoxious and egotistical nephew, Scrappy Doo seemed to have nothing better to do than to be a complete load when he was part of the Mystery Gang. One day, he pissed on Daphne. Yup. That was pretty much all it took for the friends to leave him at Yucca Flats, where he'd hopefully never be heard from again. Or so they thought. Overcome with vengeance, Scrappy took over the beach resort known as Spooky Island. You see, the place used to be ruled by demons before Emile Mondavarious bought it, and they've been craving for release ever since. Using a robot made in Emile's likeness, Scrappy took over the place, lured the previously-disbanded Mystery gang over, and planned to sacrifice them to the newly resurrected demons so that he would absorb their souls with the Daemon Ritus artifact, accrue all 1,000 souls, and help the demons unleash the Darkopolypse. This pup's a bit screwed up.
Notable Kills: Every time he got a soul. This puppy eats souls.
Final Fate: After Scrappy's Emile-bot is exposed as him by the gang, he uses the souls of the tourists to transform into the huge and burly Scrappy Rex to try and kill them all. But Shaggy manages to remove the Daemon Ritus from his body with a giant machine arm, reverting him back and freeing the souls. The evil pup and his minions are soon promptly arrested. And he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for those meddling sons of-SLAM! What a knob.
Powers/Abilities: With the Daemon Ritus, Scrappy can absorb souls to empower himself.
Weakness: Removing the Daemon Ritus, and conventional means afterwards.
Scariness Factor: 3-Scrappy, much like everyone else, is made out of ungodly dated CGI, and looks rather cheap. Yet in spite of that, his final form is freaky with just how uncanny it is and how it moves thanks to the bad effects. Also, one of the most loathed cartoon characters almost ascended to Godhood. That alone is a scary thought.
Trivia: -This film was written by none other than James Gunn, who would later go on to direct movies with a FAR more likeable talking animal in the cast. A lot of you should know exactly what we're talking about here.
-In all fairness, Scrappy was never truly malicious in the original series. He just wanted to be there for his family, and at no point ever tried to squander anyone else's lives for personal gain. Also, he wasn't the only irritating dog Scooby had to share space with. Just ask Scooby Dum, his Southern cousin. Whether he was worse than Scrappy or not is dependent on how you feel about characters with less brainpower than Patrick Star.
